March 29, 2008 Piqua, OH

Cate,
I've been thinking of you and wondering how you were? It seemed you were fortunate from your fall!!
Bill spent 2 weeks in the hospital and I haven't been on the computer very much. I came home maybe did
a load of laundry or answered the phone and fell in bed. I am feeling my 74 years!! He went in with left
chest and shoulder pains and his heart checked out okay. But they found he had 2 torn rotater cuffs , his
sodium was low and his sugar quite high. Two days after going in he was weak and having trouble walking.
They did say he was going to a nursing home but was put in rehab unit of hospital and is doing well with
a walker and stronger. He's pretty much home bound and having home health visits and I am so glad he is
home and so is he!

From your e-mails your family has certainly had problems and concerns! I've kept you all in my prayers and
know God answers prayer all the time. The Social Worker wanted me to decide which nursing home we
wanted Bill to go to and I said not until I talked to the family that evening! She said he couldn't go to rehab in
hospital because he couldn't take 3 hours a day therapy. He was quite confused being in the hospital and
the doctor thought his not being able to walk might be due to dementia. I thought if they moved him to nursing
home it would be worse and he might not regain where he had been. Anyway the next morning , before very late
I was informed he was being moved to rehab in hospital (he was there 5 years ago after some surgery and we knew
what they can do). He did better than they expected and much less confused. We just have to take it a day at
a time and not worry about tomorrow, we know God knows our needs before we ask and he is in control! We
have been very blessed and are still better off than some who were in rehab and they were much younger!
I'm sure you are looking forward to the spring as we are!

You take care!! With much love, Marilyn and Bill
