Hi Cathy,
My son, Michael, took me down to see Raney & Jean over Easter. He dropped his girlfriend off at her dad's in Missouri and then took me on to Ash Flat. He visited for a couple of hours and then went back to be with Rebecca. I got to be with Raney Friday night and Saturday night and then went to church with them on Sunday. Michael came back after church to get me.
We really had a good visit. Janie and her husband came over and I got to see her son and his family while I was down there. That was all nice. It would have been so much better under different circumstances, of course, but it was still nice. He was in pretty good spirits, but he tires easily and his coloring still isn't the best from the jaundice. He looks better than he did when he went to St. Louis though. Jean said he was as orange as a pumpkin. Raney said he really was her Little Punkin for a while anyway. (ha) He still has a sense of humor. We are still holding on and waiting for our miracle. They go today to the doctors. They weren't sure if he would start chemo today or just get set up for it. I so hope that he doesn't get real sick with chemo. I know that is one of the side effects, but Lora didn't get real sick until the last with chemo.
It is really hard to be positive, but Jean doesn't want any negative talk around him. I know God can heal him and will if we believe, IF it isn't his time to go. That is the hard part....praying for him to be healed, but at the same time wanting God's will to be done, because He doesn't make mistakes and knows what is best for us. Please continue to pray for both Raney and Jean and the rest of us, too. I just don't feel I can bear losing another sibling. I guess this is one of the bad parts of growing older, huh?
Love,
Ginger
P.S. How is Carol's husband doing now? Is Carol holding up ok? How are you doing? Please be careful. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
